_Planting design for Chancery of Australia @ Vientiane, Laos _2007

Due to the sensitive nature of the building, and the bounding contract signed with the DFAT, I cannot display any pictures about this project.

The planting design constraints were quite high to follow security guidelines :
- no-one should be able to hide behind tall planting (ie no 'bushy' plants)
- flower beds should use thorny plants whenever possible
- planting cannot block security cameras views

The challenge was really high, since at the time of this design there was a widespread infestation of palm trees pests, and it was next to impossible to find healthy palm trees. Other (wider) trees were not allowed.


Here is the first list of plants I proposed before the constraints were clearly outlined to me ; that list has been drastically changed afterwards.
